Description (Plantain lily) Family Asparagaceae Originating from China, Korea, Japan and Russia An excellent clump-forming Hosta with enormous, pleated, cupped, heart-shaped, glaucous leaves. These are tough and leathery and ‘Big Daddy’ is relatively unappealing to slugs and snails although vigilance in spring is still advised. In early summer ‘Big Daddy’ produces bell-shaped white flowers held on tall, upright stems. Grow in reliably moist, fertile soil in full to part shade.
