Description Family Poaceae Originating from Western Europe. Evergreen pincushions of bright silver blue leaves grow in dense mounds of needle-like leaves, looking great in drifts, planted as ground cover around Mediterranean plants or in contemporary planters. Its bright colour makes an eye-catching contrast when planted around darker plants or in a dark mulch of slate chippings, and short spikes of blue-green midsummer flowers add a further display to low level planting at the front of a border or elevated in a rockery where its fine character can be seen close up. Hardy and easy to grow in well-drained soil in full sun. Height and spread after 2 – 3 years 25cm x 25cm.
